Subcontractors Name Favorite GCs

The American Subcontractors Association-Midwest Council announced the winners of its 2010 Awards at its annual awards gala. The winners are:

• Best General Contractor Category A (above $50 million in gross revenues)-Tarlton Corporation,

• Best General Contractor Category B ($20 - $50 million in gross revenues)-Volk Construction Company,

• Best General Contractor Category C (under $20 million in gross revenues)-G. S. & S., Inc.

• Best MEP Subcontractor Category A (above $11.5 million in gross revenues)-Murphy Company,

• Best MEP Subcontractor Category B (under $11.5 million in gross revenues)-Feit Plumbing,

• Best Specialty Subcontractor Category A (above $11.5 million in gross revenues)-Affton Fabricating & Welding Co. Inc., and

• Best Specialty Subcontractor Category B (under $11.5 million in gross revenues)-Golterman & Sabo.

Other awards given at the gala were:

• Best General Contractor Field Employee-Steve Rapp, Holland Construction Services, and

• Best General Contractor Office Employee- Fred Biermann, Kozeny-Wagner, Inc.

A Best Engineer Award was given to Michael J. Griffin, P.E., CCS Group, Inc. and Best Owner Award to John R. Farnen, St. John's Medical Center.

ASA Member Safety Awards were given to:

• Division I (over 1,000,000 man hours): Sachs Electric Company,

•Division II (500,000 - 1,000,000 man hours): PayneCrest Electric, Inc.,

• Division III (200,000 - 500,000 man hours): Helitech,

• Division IV (100,000 - 200,000 man hours): Budrovich Contracting,

• Division V (50,000 - 100,000 man hours): ACME Constructors, Bi-State Fire Protection Corporation, Cohen Architectural Woodworking, O.J. Laughlin Plumbing Company, and Parkway Construction Services, and

• Division VI (under 50,000 man hours): American Steel Fabrication, Inc., Bi-State Utilities Company, Duct Systems, Inc., Freeman Contracting, Gateway Waterproofing & Restoration, George McDonnell & Sons, Inc., Lindberg Waterproofing, Inc., Midwest Marble & Granite Corporation and Oreo & Botta Concrete.
