After a bargaining session that ran late into Tuesday night, contractors and representatives of Ironworkers Local 396 reached a settlement calling for a three-year agreement with $1.50 per year in wage increases and a 10 cent per year increase in contributions to training.
The Associated General Contractors of St. Louis issued this statement to its members. “A tentative agreement was reached late yesterday between AGC of St. Louis/Erectors & Riggers of St. Louis and Ironworkers Local 396. This tentative agreement is a three-year agreement that calls for a $1.50 per year increase in wages and fringes plus a $0.10 increase to training (CTAF). In addition, there are crew size and welders’ helper relief included in this agreement to help offset the wage/fringe increases. Wording is being finalized and should be available within a week."
Leonard Toenjes, president of AGC of St. Louis said, "Special thanks are due to the management members of the negotiating committee who put in many hard hours to obtain a settlement. Every effort was made to make changes to this agreement to improve competitiveness for our signatory contractors."
