Lighting, Restoration Brighten Lambert Dome

Lambert

Kwame Building Group (KWAME) has completed colorful LED lighting, skylights and restoration of the 100,000-square-foot historic domed ceilings in the ticketing level of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

The project included dome resurfacing as well as the addition of new skylights and an LED lighting system. The skylights provide natural light to illuminate the ticketing level by day and are complemented by colorful LED lighting which accentuates the historic modernist architecture of Lambert's iconic domes at night. KWAME was the program manager providing oversight, programming, design coordination and procurement for the project. C. Rallo Contracting Company, Inc. was the general contractor and Teng & Associates was the designer.

The dome restoration and lighting project is part of Lambert's "Airport Experience Program," a major renovation campaign designed to re-establish Lambert-St. Louis International Airport as a new ‘front door' to St. Louis. Also completed in the program was the replacement of the entire in-bound baggage system in the main terminal.
