Excellence in many forms - scholarship, volunteerism, design, construction, collaboration, and contribution to the community – was recognized on Thursday evening at the 19th annual CNR/Aon Regional Excellence Awards and St. Louis Chapter, National Association of Women in Construction recognition awards, held at the Randall Gallery downtown.
Aon, a national leader in construction risk management services, sponsored the event for the first time. Lori Goltermann, president of Aon Missouri, said that Aon's sponsorship was a recognition of Aon's commitment to the St. Louis construction industry. Goltermann noted that on a national basis Aon also sponsors the Associated General Contractors of America's "Build America" awards. Earlier this year Tarlton was presented a Build America award at the AGC national convention for the Moosylvania Marketing project, located in Maplewood. Moosylvania was also a recipient of a Regional Excellence Award Thursday.
"Green construction" was a theme among the projects selected by
judges for 2008 CNR Regional Excellence Awards. Seven of the eight projects incorporated major commitments to sustainable,
energy-conserving construction and operation in their building
programs.
The winners of the Regional Excellence Awards for this year are: Cardinal Glennon Children's Expansion; Doisy
Research Center at St. Louis University; Express Scripts; Frieze Harley
Davidson; Kerr Foundation; Monsanto Data Center; Moosylvania Marketing;
