Wildwood Moves Into New City Hall

Koman Properties and the City of Wildwood today announced that the new Wildwood City Hall is set to open in the heart of the Wildwood Town Center development on Feb. 2. City officials are using the coming weeks to move their operations at 16962 Manchester Road to their new home at 183 Plaza Drive within the thriving Wildwood Town Center, which has been developed over the past several years by Koman Properties, a Clayton-based real estate development firm.

The City of Wildwood will operate all city functions within 13,000 square feet, comprised of the entire second floor and part of the first floor of the fully-leased, two-story, mixed-use building positioned along Hwy 100 within the center of the development. The new space features an expansive council chamber with available seating for up to 250, as well as much needed office space, and more functional service counters for many departments operating in the City Hall.   Koman Properties, Inc. was hired to complete the build-out on behalf of the City.

The full occupancy of the building housing the new City Hall, as well as the addition of a new fountain, completes the eastern portion of the  $50 million development.

The first Phase was completed in the fall of 2005 and includes a Walgreens, Starbucks Coffee, Amante Jewelers, Hair Saloon for Men, U.S. Cellular, and Cold Stone Creamery. Later Phases consisted of two new, two-story mixed-use structures. The first was a 40,000 square-foot premier, mixed-use office/retail building that was completed in late 2006, which is home to Pure by Jen, a very popular boutique, as well as several second-floor office users. In addition, the building features a corner restaurant space overlooking the building’s terraced, landscaped plaza flanked by a tiered fountain. It will open this spring as Table Three. The outer end cap is occupied by Indigo Joe’s Sports Pub & Restaurant. A 112-room, 80,000-square foot, Clarion Collection hotel/conference center rounds out the development.
