Sponsors Support Habitat for Humanity, Celebrate CNR’s 40th: Event Registration Open

Six construction organizations, including two unions, an industry promotion fund, two consulting firms, a photographer, and a specialty contractor have shown their support for Habitat for Humanity St. Louis by signing on as sponsors for "Raise the Roof", CNR's 40th birthday bash on Oct. 29.  All proceeds from the event over facility costs will go directly to Habitat for Humanity.

The dinner event will be held at the Missouri Athletic Club, beginning with a cocktail hour and silent auction.  Arteaga Photos is donating a 40" X 70" mural of Downtown St. Louis and various construction-related memorabilia will also be included in the auction.

During the dinner hour the St. Louis CNR 2009 Regional Excellence Awards will be presented, as will a special humanitarian award, named after CNR founder Thomas J. Finan, Jr.. The humanitarian award will be presented to IBEW Local 1 and the St. Louis Chapter NECA for their ongoing support of Habitat. Last year IBEW/NECA wired 27 homes for Habitat St. Louis.

All proceeds from tickets sold, over the MAC's direct costs, go to support Habitat for Humanity St. Louis.

CNR publisher Tom Finan praised the companies and organizations who have committed to sponsor the event. "This kind of support is what it's all about," he said. "Recently I was talking with an old friend, Jim Frey of Alberici, at an industry event. We agreed that in times like these it's the people in the construction industry that make it all worthwhile. For 40 years the construction industry has been CNR's family. My dad would be delighted to see the way these companies are stepping up."
