S.M. Wilson Wins CM Award for Goldfarb School of Nursing

The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) has honored S. M. Wilson & Company with a 2008 Project Achievement Award in the category of New Construction Under $30 Million for the company's work on the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College.

The annual Construction Management Project Achievement Awards program recognizes outstanding achievement in the practice of construction management. The awards program considers project outcomes, overall management, complexity,

safety, quality management, cost management, schedule management, innovation and creativity and customer satisfaction.
This is the third consecutive year that CMAA has recognized S. M. Wilson nationally for a construction management project. In 2006, the company was recognized by the CMAA for Phase 1A of the CTICU & OR renovation at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.  Last year the company was recognized for the Dr. William D. Purser, DC Center at Logan College of Chiropractic.
S. M. Wilson received this year's award on October 14th during the 2008 CMAA Industry Recognition Dinner in San Francisco.  Those accepting the award included:
o Sara Brothers on behalf of Christner, Inc.
o Fred Jaeckle and Kurt Mollet on behalf of S. M. Wilson & Co.

The new Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, is a state-of-the-art teaching facility. The five-story, 104,000 square-foot facility houses numerous classrooms, two 200 seat auditorium, student activity and study rooms, computer labs, and nursing simulation labs. The school features the newest teaching technology available in simulated operating rooms and patient rooms, as well as wireless Internet access and video conferencing. The facility also includes the admissions, financial aid, faculty and research offices.

Construction began in March 2006 and was completed in September 2007. Christner, Inc. was the planner and architect for the building and its landscape.
