Federal stimulus funds are paying the way as Raineri Construction advances construction of new firehouses in suburban Jefferson and Lincoln Counties. The projects, totaling $3.1 million, are being funded by American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants.
Nearing completion is a single-level 15,200-square-foot facility outside of Festus, MO, that will be shared by the Mapaville Fire Department and the Joachim Plattin Ambulance District. Following it is another single-level emergency services structure with 7,800 square feet being built by Raineri off Missouri Highway 47 in Lincoln County. It is destined for use by the Winfield-Foley Fire Protection District. The two facilities are the only new firehouses being funded by stimulus monies in metro St. Louis.
Bacon Commercial Design of Crystal City, MO, was architect and structural engineer for the Jefferson County building. Archimages, of Kirkwood, MO, was responsible for the Lincoln County design.
