Tarlton Corp. named Project Director Matthew Pfund to the St. Louis-based general contracting/construction management firm's executive team. In his new role as a vice president, Pfund will report to Dirk Elsperman, Tarlton chief operating officer, while still remaining focused on delivering projects. He also will oversee Tarlton's TEAM maintenance facility and productivity improvement initiatives.

Pfund joined Tarlton in 1996 as a project engineer and was an intern prior to his full-time employment. He began his career working on the water treatment facility at the Chain of Rocks Water Treatment Facility, City of St. Louis Water Division, and has since worked on projects for the Saint Louis Zoo, BJC HealthCare, the U.S. General Services Administration, Macy's and Nordstrom Inc. In addition, Pfund has worked on more than 30 projects executed by Tarlton at Washington University and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, since construction began on the Charles F. Knight Executive Education Center in 1999
