NAWIC Block Fest Highlight of Oct. 3 Parents as Teachers Event

A highlight of The National Center for Parents as Teachers Family Play Date  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the St. Charles Convention Center will be BLOCK Fest™, an interactive construction exhibit developed by the University of Idaho Parents as Teachers program to build math and science skills in young children.

Using hands-on activities through block play, BLOCK Fest™ encourages young children and their parents to learn and play side by side. St. Louis Chapter 38 NAWIC is partnering with Parents as Teachers at Family Play Date to expose young children to the world of construction through BLOCK FestTM as well as through its own demonstration project.

Children don't come with instruction manuals, so for 25 years Parents as Teachers has been helping parents embrace their important role as their child's first and best teacher. BLOCK Fest™ , along with dozens of local exhibits will give area families an opportunity to experience Parents as Teachers and a variety of other family-friendly activities.

Based in St. Louis, the National Center for Parents as Teachers is the resource base and backbone of the largest parent education program in the nation.
