Location: Budrovich Excavating & Contracting

The Budrovich Companies along with several major sponsors will, once again, present "Meet the Machines". Building on the unqualified success of the inaugural event in 2005, and the overwhelming growth since, the event promises much more in 2009. Last year’s event drew approximately 12,000 attendees.
Many sponsors such as McCarthy Building Companies, MC Industrial, Guarantee Electrical Schnuck’s, Luby Equipment Company, JD Kutter Insurance, AmeriSure, Manitowoc Crane and others have seen the explosive growth of the free event and are supporting it through full sponsorships, in-kind donations and volunteers.
The event will be held Saturday, April 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This exciting family outing is held at the Budrovich Excavating & Contracting headquarters, which is in an old quarry located at 10328 Lake Bluff Drive in St. Louis, MO.
The purpose of the educational event is to introduce children, ages 3-15 years old, to the heavy equipment side of the construction business. Guests should arrive at the north gate and stop at the registration table. The first 1,500 kids will receive their Meet the Machines hard hat and other giveaways.
This year’s event promises more interactive elements. Children and adults, alike, will have the opportunity to climb aboard and explore giant excavation and hoisting machinery. Additionally, visitors can participate in hands-on, educational activities such as “digging” for prizes or operating a crane via a training simulator. There will be games and prizes, face painting and opportunities to get pictures taken with a local sports team mascot, other local celebrities and, of course, the heavy machinery itself. An operator skill challenge will allow the youngsters to see professionals operate heavy equipment for contest prizes. Food and beverages will be provided to attendees at a minimal cost.
The Budrovich Companies specialize in site utility excavation, mass & finish grading, crane rental, and residential, commercial and industrial land development. Budrovich employs nearly 150 skilled operators, laborers and teamsters in the St. Louis metropolitan region, utilizing nearly 90 pieces of excavation & grading equipment and 40 mobile hydraulic cranes.
