McCarthy Wins $9.5M MOB in Mt. Vernon

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. was awarded an additional $9.8 million work in the Frauenshuh Medical Office Building for Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon, IL. The new contract includes 70,000 square feet of fit out, including Garden, Level 1 and Level 3 of the 141,000-square foot building. The medical office building is connected to the hospital and includes a surgery center, laboratories, rehabilitation suite, exam rooms and outpatient diagnostic services.

McCarthy is construction manager for the fit out as well as the health center and medical office building core and shell. All are designed by BSA LifeStructures. The concrete and structural steel buildings have a brick and stone veneer and will complete in October 2012 with projected use in January 2013.

McCarthy and Jefferson County-based partners, Shores Builders and Lipps Construction, broke ground on the hospital project in April 2010 and the medical office building in March 2011. McCarthy expects to complete the $14.5 million core and shell portion and lobby of the medical office building in the spring of 2012 with completion of the interiors aligning with the October completion of the hospital. The hospital and medical office building are located on Veteran's Memorial Drive, adjacent to the new interchange for I-57 and I-64.
