The City of St. Louis has awarded Kwame Building Group (KWAME) a contract to provide construction management on a runway and taxiway rehabilitation and reconstruction project at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.
KWAME, a St. Louis based construction management firm, will provide construction management and quality assurance material testing on a runway and three taxiways. The project will begin May 1, 2009, and is expected to be completed November 30, 2010.
“The construction is part of the Airport’s overall pavement management plan to improve and maintain runways and taxiways to meet FAA standards at Lambert,” said Mike Minges, KWAME program manager. “The project will require major coordination with the Airport and the Air Traffic Control Tower to minimize the impact of shutdowns required for the reconstruction of the taxiways and runway.”
The project includes construction management and quality assurance material testing for rehabilitation of Runway 12L-30R Keel Section from Taxiway J to E; reconstruction of Taxiway V from Taxiway F to Runway 24 - Phase I; reconstruction of Taxiway F from Taxiway V to Runway 24; and reconstruction of Taxiway S from Runway 6 to Taxiway D.
KWAME currently is the program management consultant on the “Airport Experience Program,” the extensive renovation campaign at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport that will redefine, renovate and enhance the terminal, concourse and passenger support facilities at Lambert”.
Kwame Building Group is a pure program and construction management firm providing estimating, scheduling, project planning, value engineering and other project management services as an independent advocate for owners and developers.
