KIDstruction Asks Trades to Help Kids

In early May "KIDstruction", a tradeperson-led fundraising concept, will attempt to raise thousands of dollars to benefit St. Louis Children's Hospital.

KIDstruction is asking local construction trade employees to contribute one dollar or more per hour of work during the first week in May officially designated as "St. Louis Children's Hospital KIDstruction Week."

"We are excited about the possibility of bringing together thousands of small donations throughout our great industry, Rich Ledbetter, president of Castle Contracting and chairman of 2011 KIDstruction said. "We believe the outstanding and compassionate tradepersons in St. Louis understand the importance of St. Louis Children's Hospital, and they will be willing to give."

More than 35 local construction companies, including Alberici Corporation, Clayco Inc., Helmkamp Construction Co., Kozeny Wagner Inc., McCarthy Construction, and S.M. Wilson & Co have agreed to participate in the inaugural year of the event.

Major trade employers such as Aschinger Electric, Guarantee Electrical, Murphy Company, Rock Hill Mechanical Corporation, and Vee‐Jay Cement Contracting Company and are among those
firms who have have designated a KIDstruction "foreman" who will be visiting this week with the tradespersons in the field. In some cases, the companies will match individual
contributions. The donations will occur through payroll deduction.

Each trade person that agrees to donate will receive KIDstruction Week hardhat sticker and those who give $40 or more will receive a safety-green t-shirt with the KIDstruction logo.
