KCI Wins $21 Million Barracks Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has notified KCI Construction that the firm has been awarded the Trainee Barracks Upgrade Project at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.

The contract of $20,680,000 is a design-build project on which KCI teamed with International Architects Atlier, based on their team success on the recently completed design-build Mid Campus Housing project at University of Missouri – Columbia.

The 18 month project will start immediately, and includes remodel of and addition to three three-story dormitories, renovation of a dining hall and battalion headquarters.  The dorms will be reconfigured from existing squad bays to open troop layouts and are intended to be similar to dormitory space in the nearby private sector community.

The dining hall project will provide food service for soldiers and is intended to be similar to cafeterias and restaurants in the surrounding community. Battalion headquarters will provide classroom space and administrative services for soldiers.
