Kaiser Promotes Names Murphy Head of STL

Kaiser Electric Inc. promoted Michael Murphy to the position of vice president of operations, St. Louis Division. Murphy previously held the title of vice president/senior project manager.
 
In his new position, Murphy is responsible for achieving the management committee’s goals, supporting the corporate strategy, and creating innovative new ways to be competitive and grow Kaiser Electric in the market place.
 
“One of our greatest strengths is our design/build group’s successes in the healthcare and commercial arenas,” Murphy said. “To support this effort, I believe we need to build on the relationships between our project management and field staff by streamlining the communications process and improving our information flow. By getting the information from our customers, through design and into the field quickly, we can lessen the impact of change and add value to our team.”
 
Murphy has been with Kaiser Electric for nearly eight years and has previously held the positions of project manager, service group manager and vice president/senior project manager.
 
He is a graduate of St. Louis University Parks College and is currently a member of the St. Louis Construction Consumers Council, International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
