Kaiser Electric on Fast-Track for Lewis Rice

Kaiser Electric has been four months to design and install electrical and communications systems for Lewis Rice & Fingersh's law offices at One City Center in Downtown St. Louis. The law firm is building-out the structure's top six floors, with the top floor being used for an audio visual/conference and training room.

The project began on Oct. 15, 2009 with its completion date scheduled for Feb. 15, 2010. In order to meet the schedule demands and expedite the rough-in process, the Kaiser Electric crew assembled materials for the project off-site, floor by floor. Kaiser also initially doubled its crew size to allow work on the ceiling to be completed quickly so that the ceiling grid could be installed ahead of schedule. This foresight also allowed walls on the project's floors, 20-25, to be framed sooner as well. Kaiser is also installing voice over IP CAT 6 cabling with a fiber optic back bone for the communications system.

"We are always looking for opportunities to improve the schedule and ensure that the project is completed on time and on budget," said Kaiser Electric Project Manager Mike Murphy, Vice-President of St. Louis Operations. "This is a very aggressive schedule for completion, and we want to be able to deliver for the client."

The architect on the project is St. Louis-based Christner, Inc. and the general contractor is BSI Constructors, Inc. of St. Louis, MO.
