Kaiser Electric Awarded Contracts for Two Flight Centers

General contractor ARCO Construction has selected Kaiser Electric as the electrical contractor/engineer on projects to wire two new FlightSafety International Learning Centers - one in St. Louis and the other in Lafayette, LA.

FlightSafety International is the world's leading aviation training company.  Both centers are currently under construction and are expected to be completed by December 2008.

Kaiser Electric is providing turnkey electrical design and low voltage wiring for the centers' lighting, computer, communication, fire, security and voice data systems. GMA Design Group, Inc. of St. Louis is the architect on the projects.

"This is a unique project in terms of electrical wiring and design," said Mike Murphy, Kaiser Electric vice-president/project manager. "We are dealing with technically advanced simulators that require both hydraulic and electrically actuated wiring, plus the wiring of innovative computer technology used to record and analyze data collected from the simulators."

FlightSafety's new 80,000-square-foot St. Louis facility, located at 4649 Le-Bourget Drive, will include classrooms, computer room, administrative offices, customer service and two, 25-foot-high simulator bays, which can house up to nine, full flight simulators. The new facility is adjacent to FlightSafety's existing 40,000-square-foot center in St. Louis.  The 70,000-square-foot FlightSafety Learning Center in Lafayette, Louisiana will emphasize helicopter training for offshore operations and provide courses for the majority of helicopter types operating in the Gulf region.

Kaiser Electric Inc. http://www.kaiserelectric.com based in Fenton, MO, has been providing electrical contracting and engineering services to the St. Louis metro area for more than 50 years. The company focuses primarily on industrial, commercial and communications projects and employs about 155 electricians and 34 staff members.
