John J. Smith Masonry Co. is one of the first masonry contractors in the nation to gain certification from the Mason Contractors Association's newly created Masonry Certificate program.
According to the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA), quality of work and end-user satisfaction are the founding of the certificate program. "We developed the Masonry Certificate program to provide customers with a tool to select mason contractors, who are committed to quality and have backed it up with a commitment to continually educate themselves and their key employees," said Jeff Buczkiewicz, executive director of the MCAA. The certificate is good for three years, but a company can renew it by demonstrating that it continues to meet certificate requirements.
John Smith, Jr., president of Smith Masonry, said he went through the certificate process in order to raise his company above the industry standard.
