The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of St. Louis recently awarded its prestigious AGC of St. Louis award to James Glenn, president of Glenn Construction Company, Inc. located in Eureka. Glenn Construction Company, Inc. has been in business for over 20 years. Glenn personally has contributed to the mission and goals of the AGC of St. Louis and the Construction Training and Advancement Foundation (CTAF) for many years.
He served on the AGC's Board of Directors from 1994-2001, including being President during 2000. He served as a trustee on the CTAF from 2004 - 2008, including chairman of CTAF from 2006-2008. Adding to Glenn's contributions to the AGC of St. Louis, he has served on the Permitting & Codes committee, Governmental Affairs Policy committee (two years as chairman), various legislative resource groups, Education subcommittee, the AGC's Charter School task force, the AGC Education Foundation task force and the Professional Development committee.
The AGC's board of directors accepts nominations for the AGC of St. Louis award annually and determines whether an award will be made in any given year. The determination process includes a review of the nominations, discussions of the merits of each nomination and a secret ballot to determine if an award will be presented. A two-thirds majority of all voting members of the board of directors is required for any individual to be selected to receive this award. This marks the first time since 2005 that an AGC of St. Louis award has been presented and Mr. Glenn joins an elite group of just 33 other individuals presented this award in the AGC's 61 year history.
The Associated General Contractors of St. Louis is the leading voice of the construction industry in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area, representing more than 400 commercial, industrial, heavy and highway contractors, industry partners and related firms.
