In Down Economy Pace, Lawrence Step Up

Even as financial markets continue their choke hold on area construction, St. Louis construction industry companies are stepping up to help those in need.

Pace Construction Check

Pace Construction held a golf tournament for their clients and raised over $12,800 in honor of friends who have experienced cancer.  The company matched all contributions dollar for dollar, and Pace Construction Customer Relations Coordinator Jessica Swick presented a check to Yvette Hartsfield, CEO of Gilda's Club.

Named after the late Gilda Radner, St. Louis Gilda's Club is a free support community for men, women and children whose lives have been touched by cancer, and their families and friends.

Lawrence Group held an American Red Cross blood drive in its headquarters in the Security Building downtown on Feb. 4,  and invited all its neighbors in the Fourth Street/Broadway neighborhood to participate. Donna J. Gamache, director of communications said that Lawrence Group employees and those of neighboring businesses had responded warmly despite the frigid weather.
