Construction-management firm IMPACT Strategies announced it has been awarded a $5.7 million contract to build a new perishable food warehouse at MidAmerica Airport in Mascoutah, IL. The contract was awarded by St. Clair County's Public Building Commission, which operates MidAmerica Airport on behalf of the County. Site preparation has already begun and the project is scheduled to be complete in May 2012.
Approximately 36,000 square feet, the new warehouse facility will serve as a year-round distribution center for fresh fruit shipped to customers in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe. St. Clair County's agreement is with North Bay Produce, Inc. (http://www.northbayproduce.com), an international grower-owned cooperative headquartered in Traverse City, Mich. The warehouse is the first in the Midwest for North Bay Produce, Inc. IMPACT Strategies (http://www.buildwithimpact.com) is working with GMA Architects of St. Louis on the project.
Mark Hinrichs, president of IMPACT Strategies, states, "This is our second project at MidAmerica Airport and one of several key projects that we've been hired to build for St. Clair County. We're pleased that the County continues to turn to IMPACT Strategies for professional, quality construction-management solutions."
