At AWCI's Convention & INTEX Expo, the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry recognizes contractors for excellence in construction quality in the face of complicated and challenging projects. The AWCI Excellence in Construction Quality Award is given to the winning team of AWCI member contractors, manufacturers and suppliers/distributors who worked together on a wall and ceiling project.
Nominated projects are judged by members of AWCI's Industry Awards Committee on the basis of the project's degree of difficulty and/or unique or creative use of materials incorporated into the project; the project's construction duration in relation to its square footage and project type; and overall construction quality.
This is the second year in a row that TJ Wies Contracting, Inc. has received an AWCI Excellence in Construction Quality Award. Last year they won the category where the contract value is less than $1 million for their work on Cardinal Kids Cancer Center at the David C. Pratt Cancer Center at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Mo.
Established in 1994, TJ Wies Contracting, Inc. is one of the largest wall and ceiling contractors in the Missouri and Illinois bi-state area, employing more than 200 union tradespeople with offices in Lake St. Louis and Columbia, MO.
