Icon Mechanical Builds All-American Facility

Nucor Building Systems presented its "Buy American" plaque to icon Mechanical for its new 18,000-square-foot Granite City, IL facility, which was built by BBi Constructors.

Nucor Building Systems, a leading manufacturer of metal building systems with IAS AC 472 accreditation assuring the structural integrity and quality of Nucor Building Systems projects, presents "Buy American" plaques to companies that
choose to build structures that have been designed, detailed and fabricated in
America using American steel, pride and quality. "We've worked with Nucor for three years on many projects," says Scott Beckett, principal of BBi Constructors, "And we're proud to be part of its ‘Buy American' program."

With headquarters in Granite City, Ill., icon Mechanical is a privately owned commercial/industrial mechanical contractor specializing in design/build HVAC, industrial process piping and commercial/industrial mechanical service.

BBi Constructors completed icon Mechanical's facility using the Nucor Building Metal Building System, which includes offices, storage, receiving, pipe fitter shop, additional warehouse space and the expansion of the state-of-the-art fabrication shop, on schedule in spite of record rains during much of the construction process. Major relocation of utility lines and removal of existing storage buildings were necessary.

BBi Constructors, owned by Scott Beckett and Randy Bueckendorf, provides general contracting, construction management and design/build services to local clients, which include projects for Boeing, Parkway South Middle School, Mount Grace Covent, ELCO Chevrolet, Stauder Technologies and City of Ferguson's Urban Plaza.
