Holland Completes O’Fallon School Work

Three phases of renovations and improvements are now complete at Central Elementary School of Central School District #104 in O'Fallon, Ill. The final segment was completed in August by Holland Construction Services, Inc. just in time for the new school year.

The final phase of the $4.8 million project consisted of the renovation of seven classrooms and the updating of the heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems that service them. In addition, the physical education office and outdoor playground area were restructured, and new sidewalks added. The existing cafeteria was converted into an indoor playground area including a large play structure and climbing wall.

Holland Construction completed Phase II of the school's renovations last fall, which included the interior transformation of approximately 70 percent of the building along with the addition of a cafeteria and commons area, a new art facility for Kindergarten through fourth grade the conversion of existing office areas into a new library, as well as mechanical updates.

Phase I primarily involved the conversion of two existing classrooms into new school administrative offices, and the renovation of four additional classrooms into two pre-Kindergarten rooms with appealing, suspended circular clouds constructed with acoustical ceiling tiles and grid system.

Wm. B. Ittner, Inc. of Fairview Heights, Ill. was the architectural firm for the project.
