Gray Design Completes A True Spa Interiors

Gray Design Group has completed interiors for A True Spa, a new 3,000-square-foot full-service spa in Chesterfield Valley.

Gray utilized its extensive experience in spa environments to provide a functional layout with warm relaxing finishes that are able to evolve seasonally to keep the facility fresh and up to date. The design team aimed to create a classic space that felt residential and welcoming.

“The combination of the soft lighting with the rich neutral gold color palette creates a soothing and nurturing feeling one hopes to experience while visiting a spa,” said Wendy Gray, principal. “The client wanted the customers to feel as if they are in the comfort of their own homes, and I think we accomplished that goal for them.”

To accent the neutral colors, the receptionist’s desk is made out of dark, cherry wood with ornate carved detailing.

Similar wood is used for the cabinetry and lockers in the changing room, which are programmed to customers’ personal coded combinations. Retail products available for purchase are displayed on back-lit shelving created from decorative acrylic panels with a botanical motif.

The multiple treatment rooms offer a variety of lighting options based on the type of treatment. To ensure customers have the ability to feel relaxed and rejuvenated, Gray created a relaxation area with comfortable built-in lounge seating and a full-height glass waterfall feature.

Gray’s team consisted of Don McAtee, senior project manager, and Ashley Smith, project manager. Interior Construction Services was the general contractor.

“Gray fulfilled my vision of a beautiful, peaceful and tranquil place where clients can come and put themselves first,” said Mikki Monger-Jones, owner of A True Spa. “They combined all the wonderful aspects of the many worldwide spas I have traveled to into one very special place.”

A True Spa is an upscale day spa offering a full range of aesthetic services, including massage therapy, facials, body treatments and specialty services such as air-brush tanning and semi-permanent make-up.
