ASA Midwest Council Vice-President Steve Giacin moved up to the position of president, replacing A.J. Ford of Budrovich Contracting. Giacin is serving a one-year term which began July 1 and will expire June 30, 2013. Giacin, who is president of Kaiser Electric in Fenton, MO, said he plans to continue the momentum the association has gained in the past year and to promote the benefits of ASA to non-members to create the best member growth year in the association's history, among other goals.
"I want to continue to enhance our legislative efforts on behalf of our member subcontracting firms and to be more proactive and creative in providing additional value added services to our membership," Giacin said. "I also want to work to continue improving relations between the AGC and ASA leadership to promote harmony and construction opportunities in the St. Louis area. I will also work to transform our newly formed Partners in Construction from concept to reality, providing collaboration, education and new networking opportunities to our membership."
Also as of July 1, 2012, Vincent Irwin of Irwin Products was elected the ASA Midwest Council's vice-president, Robert Trask of Parkway Construction Services was elected secretary, and Mark O'Donnell of O'Donnell, Bonebrake & Co. will continue to serve as treasurer.
