Forest Hills CC Starts $2.8 M Renovation

Forest Hills Country Club's board of directors announced that they have started work on a $2.8 million renovation and construction project of their facilities, which will include their current Championship Golf Course, swimming pools and clubhouse dining facilities. Forest Hills Country Club - which was established as a private country club in Clarkson Valley, Missouri in December 1964 - is embarking on this renovation project now, in order to have the entire project completed in advance of the Club's 50th Anniversary in 2014.

The overall master plan was developed by The McMahon Group for the Forest Hills Country Club Board, and this plan was voted on and approved by the Club's members in March of 2011. Details of the renovation and construction project include the following areas of the club:

The Clubhouse facility at Forest Hills Country Club, which hasn't be updated since 1992, will be totally rehabbed and decorated to reflect the club's future.

  • 5,000 square feet of interior space has been gutted and will be redesigned and reconstructed, including 200 seats of dining in three areas of the club's dining rooms and bar area.
  • Expansion of Dutch's Lounge bar area, and will be adding climate-controlled wine lockers with member storage areas to the wine cellar.
  • The Championship Golf Course at Forest Hills Country Club — previous host to several LPGA Tournaments, U.S. Open sectional and regional qualifying rounds, U.S. amateur qualifying and district amateur finals —will be renovated along with the clubhouse.
  • The current pools will be replaced with a new aquatic center, complete with two new swimming pools and an expansive decking area. The aquatic center will feature up-to-date social amenities as well as state-of -the-art competition facilities. The club's new family pool is one of a kind. It features a splash area for kids, a zero-entry beach area, a separate social area with underwater bench seating, a 25 yard competition area, and a one meter diving well. The adult only pool features an in-water tanning deck and underwater bench seating. A walk-up bar and upscale decking and landscaping complete the picture.

Murray K. "Ken" Butler, general manager and chief operating officer for Forest Hills , is supervising the renovation/construction project, with guidance from the board of directors and President C.B. "Bud" Sinnett.
