ESI to Audit Florissant Energy Use

Energy Solutions Inc. (ESI), an  energy efficiency consulting firm based in St. Louis County, has been retained by the City of Florissant to conduct an energy audit and a utility bill analysis to save money and reduce the city's energy efficiency usage.

ESI won a competitive bid for the contract, which was awarded by the City of Florissant municipal government in November 2009 and is overseen by Florissant building commissioner Philip Lum. ESI is conducting an energy audit of 10 city buildings, comprising approximately 166,000 square feet, including James J. Eagan Community Center, City Hall and other facilities.

One purpose of the audit is to help the City of Florissant develop an energy conservation strategy to apply for block grant funds from the U.S. Department of Energy for renewable energy sources. Additionally, ESI is performing a utility bill analysis for Florissant to help the city benchmark energy and target improvements of city-run facilities.
