The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $10.2 million design/build contract for C-9C and C-40 squadron operations facility and a parts storage facility at Scott Air Force Base to K&S Associates. The new 52,000 square foot facility will accomodate mission support and staffing for the 932nd Airlift Wing's C-9C and C-40 airlift squadrons, as well as maintenance parts storage for contractor logistics support, administrative and briefing, a squadron command post, and various offices and storage.
The 932nd is a reserve unit, which transports dignitaries such as the First Lady and members of Congress, as well as performing medical evacuations.
Woolpert, Inc.'s Fairview Heights, IL office will partner with K&S on the design of the project.
