Contegra Completes $22 Million Gateway Center Project

Contegra Construction Co. has completed expanding the Westway III distribution center at Gateway Commerce Center in Madison County, Ill. from 580,000 to nearly 1.2 million square feet to accommodate tenant Proctor Gamble. The expansion is enabling the consumer products giant to consolidate its metro St. Louis distribution operations at one location.

Contegra provided complete turn-key construction services on the $22 million project which results in a building that blends 1,138,000 square feet of warehouse topped by 32-foot clear-height ceilings with 20,000 square feet of office space.

The 2,300-acre distribution park, located at the intersection of I-270 and I-255, was launched in 1997 and currently hosts roughly nine million square feet of distribution space in 19 buildings. Also present at Gateway are The Dial Corporation, Hershey Foods Corp., Unilever,  and OHL.
