The St. Louis office of Cannon Design is leading two new healthcare projects.
Recently announced, an eight-member hospital selection committee selected Cannon Design as the architect/engineer for Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion at the University of Colorado. The new inpatient tower will have approximately 200 beds, with an expanded emergency department, surgical services, imaging, cardiac and vascular services, and other ancillary services, as well as a new parking garage. The total project cost is estimated at $300 million.
Just breaking ground in Phoenix, the M. D. Anderson Banner Cancer Center will deliver cancer care to patients in Arizona through M. D. Anderson's collaboration with Banner Health, the state's leading nonprofit health care system. Phase One is a 120,000-square-foot, three-story building dedicated to outpatient services including radiation oncology, infusion therapy, medical imaging and physician clinics. Targeted to open Fall 2011, the project cost is $107 million. The Master Plan for the next two phases already has zoning approval and will bring the total project size to 360,000 square feet.
The lead architects for both projects are: Mike Felton, principal in charge, Mike Pukszta, principal planner, David Polzin, senior designer, and Natalie Petzoldt, senior planner.
