Budrovich BIG on You Tube

The biggest new star on YouTube may be a crane owned by Budrovich.

A.J. Ford, vice presiBudrovich 550dent for sales and marketing at Budrovich, posted a time lapse video of the assembly of what he said is the largest mobile hydraulic crane in the Midwest, the GMK7550-550 mobile, hydraulic, self-erecting, 550-ton crane.

Ford shared a few of the huge crane's stats:

  • Only 550 ton within 300 miles of St. Louis
  • Grove GMK7550-550 ton.
  • Purchased in 2006
  • 197 ft. of five-section full power main boom
  • 240 ft. of lattice luffing jib OR
  • 230 ft. of fixed lattice jib
  • 430 ft. of overall tip height
  • Mega-Wing boom attachment
  • 352,000 lb. of hydraulically installed/removed counterweights

Ford said the crane's applications include heavy industrial, power generation, refining, commercial windfarm maintenance, emergency response, and long-reach. Since 2006 it has been used in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa.
