Eligie "Jack" Boatman of Mobile, AL., has joined the management team at SAK Construction LLC, a national pipeline rehabilitation and tunneling industries contractor headquartered in the St. Louis area. Based in Mobile, Boatman will manage SAK’s business development efforts in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. SAK serves a variety of city, county and state agencies; industrial sectors; municipalities; and water and sewer cooperatives coast-to-coast.
Boatman brings to SAK 13 years of experience in business management, community development, safety and training in the pipeline rehabilitation industry. His background also includes 27 years with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Co., where he served in various engineering and upper management roles. Boatman holds a master’s degree in management from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Ala. He also completed advanced studies in urban affairs at Saint Louis University.
He has served in a number of humanitarian and community leadership roles in St. Louis. He served as a mentor at the St. Louis Boys & Girls Club and garnered the “Sheer Elegance Community Service Award” from Mathews-Dickey Boys’ and Girls’ Club and the Sammy Davis Jr. “Yes I Can” award. The neighborhood alliance in Augusta, GA, recently honored Boatman with the establishment of the “Jack Boatman Community Development Award” that recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding community service.
Boatman is a member of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and serves on the corporate advisory committee of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators (NFBPA). He also serves on the economic advisory committee for the City of Pritchard, AL
Founded in 2006, SAK Construction is led by industry veterans Jerry Shaw, president; Tom Kalishman, chairman; and Robert Affholder, vice chairman. The three SAK leaders are known for their expertise in trenchless underground technology, including cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation.
