Beckham Joins AR Architecture Advisors

Hunter Beckham, RLA, ASLA and principal at St. Louis landscape architecture firm SWT Design, Inc. has been appointed to the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture Professional Advisory Board.

"We believe the work Hunter does as part of SWT Design gives him a voice that will resonate with our students and faculty alike," said Mark Boyer, Landscape Architecture department head. "Hunter will bring a valuable level of energy and love for the program to assist us as we grow and excel at educating the next generations of landscape architects."

Beckham has more than 15 years of experience as a landscape architect, with expertise in both design and construction. His areas of particular interest include the inter-connectivity of community planning, sustainable and environmentally friendly site design as well as multidisciplinary collaboration for green roof design and implementation. Beckham serves on the national government affairs advisory committee of the American Society of Landscape Architects, is chapter liaison to the Historic American Landscape Survey and is part of the Sustainable Design and Development Professional Interest Group. He is a current trustee and past president of the St. Louis Chapter of ASLA and serves on the St. Louis Regional Green Building Council.

"I'm extremely honored to be chosen for the Professional Advisory Board," Beckham said. "The University of Arkansas helped develop and shape my skills and interests as a landscape architect, and it's a great thing to be able to go back and share what I've learned to help advance both my alma matter and the profession."

As a member of the Fay Jones School of Architecture Professional Advisory Board, Beckham will serve the landscape architecture department through focus group sessions to help strengthen the department and help students develop professional relationships, networks and stay abreast of industry trends.
