Bazan Receives National ASA Award

American Subcontractors Association (ASA) President Timmy McLaughlin honored Walter Bazan, Jr., Bazan Painting Company,  with the ASA President's Award on March 4,  at the ASA Business Forum and Convention 2011 in Naples, FL.

The ASA President's Award is given by the current ASA president on a discretionary basis to an individual who has helped the president the most during his term.Walt Bazan
"[Walt] was always willing to take on a project and complete it, pick up where help was needed and lead by setting the example," said McLaughlin, Austin Construction Company, Summerville, S.C. "I found that it was good for me to have a person that didn't want to take the easy way and that would ask questions."

A past president of the ASA-Midwest Council and ASA's national treasurer in 2010-11, Bazan has served as chair of several ASA committees, including Chapter Recognition, Membership and Meetings.

Founded in 1966, ASA amplifies the voice of, and leads, trade contractors to improve the business environment for the construction industry and to serve as a steward for the community. ASA's vision is to be the united voice dedicated to improving the business environment in the construction industry. The ideals and beliefs of ASA are ethical and equitable business practices, quality construction, a safe and healthy work environment, and integrity and membership diversity.
