Applications are now being accepted for the Association of Modified Asphalt Producers' (AMAP's) newly-established David R. Jones Scholarship Fund.
The fund will provide a $1,000 scholarship annually to college juniors and seniors majoring in a field of study related to asphalt technology, such as chemical or civil engineering and chemistry. Special preference will be given to applicants with experience in the overall field of asphalt technology.
Applications are available via the AMAP website at www.modifiedasphalt.org by clicking on the scholarship fund icon on the home page. To be considered for this year's award, students must submit their applications by Sept. 30.
Interested applicants will be required to provide letters of recommendation, school transcripts and a 500-word essay highlighting their interest in asphalt technology. Complete details on application requirements are outlined on the application form.
Additional information on the scholarship is available by contacting Kevin Hardin, chairman of AMAP's Scholarship Committee.
