Arcturis Names Ratliff Principal, Harken-Houser Heads Interiors

Arcturis, a St. Louis-based architectural design firm, announced that Michael Ratliff has been promoted to principal and Sue Harken-Houser has been named director of the interiors team at the firm.

Michael Ratliff, AIA, NCARB, CSI, has over 20 years of architectural experience. He joined Arcturis in 2004 and currently oversees the firm's Quality Control area. His responsibilities include business development, schematic design through project production and contract administration. Ratliff has specific expertise working with local municipalities and multiple stakeholders with expert knowledge in gaining consensus approval from architectural review boards, planning and zoning committees, and construction permitting authorities. He holds National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) certification, is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute and a member of American Institute of Architects. A graduate of Kansas State University with a B.A. in Architecture, he resides in Ballwin.

Sue Harken-Houser, LEED® AP is the director of Arcturis' interior design group. She serves as designer, lead designer and project manager for both large and small projects and is well respected within the design community for the quality and excellence of her interior design work. Harken-Houser holds a B.A. in Fine Arts, Interior Design from Iowa State University and she attended the Architectural Studio Exchange Program at Bath University in Bath, England. She joined Arcturis in 2008 and has more than 20 years of professional experience. She is also active in the community, serving on the Nestle Purina St. Louis Coalition Advisory Board and West Portland Place Executive Board. She also participates in the United Way Women's Leadership Initiative and is a St. Louis City Shelter Volunteer. She resides in University City.
