The American Subcontractors Association-Midwest Council hosted the 7th Annual Meet the GCs Expo on January 28, 2009 at the Kemp Auto Museum from 3:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Twenty-eight general contractors participated with booths.
A record
number of subcontractors, suppliers and vendors attended the event,
with nearly 1,100 people participating.
"We believe that the attendees benefitted from this networking in a very tough economic climate," Michael Fogarty Jr., ASA council president, said.
The Expo is an event for subcontractors, vendors and supplies to meet general contractors. It is set up like a trade show where guests can mingle with general contactors they currently do business with or get reacquainted if they have worked together in the past. One of the prime benefits is the opportunity for ASA members and general contractors to meet each other and discuss the potential for business relationships. Networking with other subcontractors is also a strong purpose for attendance.
