Pinnacle Entertainment says that its newest casino and luxury resort, Lumiére Place Casino and Hotels, is inspired by the Gateway Arch. The hotel, which had a scheduled opening of Dec. 19, rises nearly 300 feet into the St. Louis skyline.
The 19-story hotel tower accommodates 200 luxury guest rooms within its glass and steel walls, which are framed by a dramatic, illuminated light box. This architectural feature will have a unique presence in the skyline and will compliment the geometry of the nearby Arch.
Pinnacle tapped the Las Vegas architecture firm responsible for the Mirage and Bellagio. Marnell Corrao Associates utilized a cutting-edge glazing system, creating the light box effect.
The light box is made possible by literally "stitching" the glass to the concrete structure of the hotel, creating a sparkling effect reflecting in the sun and a bookend to the Arch.
